About ECTS Credits
What are ECTS Credits?
The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a standard for comparing the study attainment and performance of students across the European Union.
How are ECTS calculated?
One academic year corresponds to 60 ECTS credits. Typically, student workload ranges from 1,500 to 1,800 hours per academic year, so one credit corresponds to 25 to 30 hours of work.
Using this calculator
Adjust the lecture hours, self-study hours, and number of weeks in your semester using the interactive controls. The calculator will estimate the equivalent ECTS credits based on the standard 25 hours of work per credit.
